Everyone in Doncaster is being invited to attend the Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG’s) first ever virtual, on-line Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Due to the Coronavirus situation, NHS Doncaster CCG has moved its AGM to an online format, in order to keep people safe and socially distanced.
The AGM will look at the work of the NHS organisation over the last financial year, from 1 April 2019 – 31 March 2020, just a couple of weeks after lock-down began.
Jackie Pederson, Chief Officer, NHS Doncaster CCG said: ‘This year we’ve got a real focus on our partnership working and we will be featuring the work of our providers and looking at our three main strategic areas of starting well, living well and ageing well’.
“Our AGM has been a successful engagement activity in previous years and we want to build on the momentum of these events. I hope members of the public will be able to join us as well as many of our providers, who will be taking place in our virtual marketplace in the lead up to the event. Details are available on our website and we will be featuring stalls in the week in the run up to the AGM to generate interest and show-case the work of our partners.
“Working in partnership is absolutely central to our ethos and culture at NHS Doncaster CCG and we are very proud of the work of our staff and that of our providers and organisations we commission to support, enhance and improve the health and well-being of all Doncaster residents.
“We have been through the most challenging and unprecedented times recently and it’s important we have an opportunity to take stock, reflect and give thanks. We hope as many members of the public be able to join us and take part in this year’s event.”
Dr David Crichton, Local GP and Clinical Chair, NHS Doncaster CCG said: “Since the pandemic began, so much of our work has been moved on-line and our AGM this year is no exception.
“We are really keen to enable as many people as possible to join us on Wednesday 2 September from 3.30pm until 5.30pm; the joining details are available on our website. We know some people don’t have access to digital platforms and I hope they will still feel able to participate by asking a question; these can be submitted by post to our main office if email is not an option.”
The AGM features the work of the past financial year and further details are available in the 2019-20 Annual Report.
You can also read a short summary of the past year’s highlights for the CCG, including achieving ‘Outstanding’ status from NHS England and NHS Improvement for the third year running and achieving a ‘Green Star’ rating from NHS England for the CCG’s commitment to engaging with patients and members of the public.
Everyone is invited
We are really keen to involve as many people as possible in this year’s event, including members of our Patient Participation Groups (PPGs), Doncaster’s voluntary and community groups, as well as local business and members of the public. Health and well-being affects all of us and we invite everyone to join us on 2 September, 2020.
