If you take regular prescribed medication, it is important to ensure you have enough in case you cannot leave your home should you be ill, self-isolating or unable to go out.
Even if you don’t take regular prescribed medication from your GP, it is best to be prepared with essential medicines and supplies in case you get ill. Useful items include ibuprofen, paracetamol, plasters, thermometer and antiseptic cream.
It is important to order enough medication to last you during the Christmas and New Year period – especially as we have a 4-day bank holiday weekend this year. In the event that you do run out of prescribed medication, please contact the following services who should be able to help you obtain medication quickly:
- NHS 111 – you can speak to an operator who will be able to arrange for you to attend an appointment with a local pharmacy to obtain urgent medication
- The Doncaster Same Day Health Centre and GP out of hours service may also be able to help.
