Over 75% of people have been vaccinated against Coronavirus in Doncaster!

Latest figures show that over 75% of eligible adults across Doncaster have now received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccination. Over 218,155 of local people have had a first jab with over 199,391 having now received their second dose meaning they have the best protection available from the serious health risks and complications from Coronavirus.

The 75% milestone has been hit as all people aged over 16 years are now eligible to come forward for their vaccinations.

Dr David Crichton, Clinical Chair of NHS Doncaster CCG said: “I’m delighted to announce that over 75% of adults have now received both the first and second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Doncaster.  It’s such a great achievement to reach this milestone and it’s a moment to reflect on all the work that has gone into this and say thank you to everyone who has helped to deliver the vaccination programme in our area, as well as the public for coming forward for their vaccine.

“I strongly urge anyone who is eligible and has not yet come forward for the jab to come along and receive their vaccination which is significantly reducing severe illness and reducing hospital admissions caused by the COVID-19 virus”.

Work continues to take place across the borough to help increase uptake of vaccinations in infection hotspots and targeted communities with pop-up clinics taking place in local faith venues and community centres.

People living in Doncaster are able to walk into certain sites to grab their Covid-19 vaccine. The walk-in clinics offer a convenient option as people can drop in at any time between the advertised opening hours without making an appointment.
