Myth busting Primary Care: the videos which explain how your local practice is OPEN

Local practices have been open and remain open throughout the coronavirus pandemic and over the past few weeks, health professionals in Doncaster have been making short videos to explain how appointments have adapted to help reduce the spread of the virus.

From telephone appointments to video calls, local practice is open for business and is operating in the safest way so that extremely poorly patients and staff are as protected as possible against catching coronavirus.

All local practices in Doncaster are working incredibly hard and staff have been going above and beyond to help as many people as possible. As we come into winter and common ailments spread, undoubtedly more people will need advice and treatment and it’s really important that everyone gets the same care and attention when speaking with staff. For this reason, it may take longer than we would like for you to get through to a care navigator on the phone. Please be patient and most importantly, please be kind to our frontline NHS staff who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic.

If you need healthcare advice, please always call your local practice first. If they are full and you advice on the same day, there are many alternative health services available to you in Doncaster including the Same Day Health Centre, GP Out of Hours, late night pharmacies and the newly commissioned Health Bus which will be at various places across the town each week until March 2021. Don’t forget, you can also call NHS 111 for advice 24 hours a day and use their online symptom checker for immediate advice.
