In this week’s Primary Care myth busting video, Dr Rumit Shah, local GP & Clinical Director, Doncaster East Primary Care Network discusses the changes practices have made in order to safely offer care to patients during unprecedented and challenging times for us all.
All of our practices in Doncaster are working incredibly hard and staff have been going above and beyond to help as many people as possible. As we come into winter and common ailments spread, undoubtedly more people will need advice and treatment and it’s really important that everyone gets the same care and attention when speaking with staff. For this reason, it may take longer than we would like for you to get through to a care navigator on the phone. Please be patient and most importantly, please be kind to our frontline NHS staff who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic.
If you need healthcare advice, please always call your local practice first. If they are full and you advice on the same day, there are many alternative health services available to you in Doncaster including the Same Day Health Centre, GP Out of Hours, late night pharmacies and the newly commissioned Health Bus which will be at various places across the town each week until March 2021. Don’t forget, you can also call NHS 111 for advice 24 hours a day and use their online symptom checker for immediate advice.
