There’s lots of ways for you to get involved

There’s a range of ways you can get actively involved in our work, from chatting to us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, sending us a message through our website on our contact page, or getting involved in one our many campaigns.

Patient Participation Groups
Our 40 GP Practices in Doncaster each have a Patient Participation Group (PPG). You can read some guidance here on what PPGs do. If you are interested in finding out more about joining your PPG, please ask at your GP Practice. Patients are encouraged to get involved and you will be helping to make services suitable for everyone.

Our PPG Network
Each of the 40 PPGs is entitled to send representatives to our PPG Network Meeting. The PPG Network supports our PPGs by bringing people together to share ideas and suggestions for improvement, it is also a useful network to meet others and get involved. We also support a regional Citizens Panel, which includes patients and members of the public from Doncaster.
Surveys
On a regular basis, we also lead surveys and events to gauge patient and public views on the work we do. We want to be able to demonstrate clearly how we are working effectively with patients and members of the public to develop and evaluate our services. If you would like to receive details in an alternative format, please contact us.
Feeding back your views
We like to get out and about in our community and visit you, to find out what you think. Look out for us and the ‘Health Bus’, come on board and find out more.

Engaging our future health and care workforce
The CCG is invited to talk to students at schools and colleges about the opportunities to work in health and care in Doncaster as part of the ‘Inspiring the Future’ Programme. We are keen to ensure our engagement is reflective of our population and are keen to encourage young people in particular to consider a career in health and care in Doncaster.
Health and Social Care Students at Doncaster College find out about working for the NHS.

The South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Integrated Care System
The South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Integrated Care System (ICS) is a partnership of 23 organisations responsible for looking after the health and care of the 1.5 million people living in Barnsley, Bassetlaw, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield. It is made up of NHS organisations (including us), local authorities and key voluntary sector and independent partners in our region.
An Integrated Care System is another way of describing the ambition we have locally to ensure health and care services are the best they can possibly be. By working together we will be able to better join up GPs and hospitals, physical and mental healthcare, social care and the NHS and give our patients the seamless care they have told us they want.
Through partnership working, we believe we can make real and long lasting improvements to the health of local people. As individuals and organisations working alone, we would never be able to achieve the same results.
Our goal is simple. We want everyone in South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw to have a great start in life, with the support they need to stay healthy and live longer. To find out more visit: https://www.healthandcaretogethersyb.co.uk/
In 2017 the partners who now form the Integrated Care System published a System Transformation Plan for South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw. Following the publication of the NHS Long Term Plan earlier in 2019 partners are now working together to create a new 5 year plan, which sets out how South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw organisations will work together to help deliver the Long Term Plan in our area.
