DIP: Tour De Yorkshire

As the Tour De Yorkshire comes to Doncaster on the 3rd & 4th May 2018 it is likely to cause some disruptions to Doncaster health and care services as well as road closures and access to some businesses. The information below provides details relating to affected services as well as links to partner websites including updates relating to road closures, access limitations and information about how and where to view the Tour itself.

The Same Day Health Centre

Unfortunately due to the route of the Tour the Same Day Health Centre building at Devonshire House will not be accessible on Thursday 3rd May. As a result the Same Day Health Centre facility and service for the day will relocate for one day only to the Urgent Treatment Centre at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

IMPORTANT: This service will still be by appointment only for patients with an urgent Primary Care need. Appointments can be booked by calling 0300 123 3103 8am – 8pm. Appointments will be offered the same day.

The Same Day Health Centre is a NHS service, staffed by doctors, nurses and other practitioners, to treat minor illnesses and injuries, sore throat, ear ache, sprains and strains quickly.

GP Practices

The route of the race on Thursday goes through many different areas of Doncaster and due to rolling road closures please check the route to your practice before travelling if you believe you are in an affected area.

Mexborough Montagu Minor Injuries Unit

On Friday 4th May the Tour route goes through Mexborough and passed the Minor Injuries Unit, this is likely to cause some disruption and road closures which will restrict access at times. The Minor Injuries Unit itself will remain open and patients will be able to utilise the service as normal.

For road closures affecting access to this service see the Doncaster Council Click Here. (Stage 2 for the women’s and men’s races)
