One of our key partner organisations in Doncaster have launched their annual Impact Report.
Club Doncaster Foundation, based at the Keepmoat Stadium, works alongside Doncaster Rovers FC, Doncaster Rovers Belles and Doncaster Rugby League to bring professional sport into the local community.
The foundation have revealed their latest report which showcases participant stories and provides an overview of the work the team have done over the past year to get Doncaster healthier.
One of the programmes we work closely with the team on is ‘Fit Rovers’ – a free, pioneering adult fitness course aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of men over the age of 30.
Our Clinical Director and local GP David Crichton said: “I have worked with Club Doncaster for over 3 years and truly believe in the foundation’s values and mission to make sport and healthier lifestyles accessible to everyone across Doncaster.
“Working with the foundation is one of our key partnership working relationships at the CCG as we both work hard and think innovatively around ways to raise and promote health and wellbeing initiatives.
“I am especially passionate about the joint work we do around Fit Rovers with mental health and cancer awareness. With a challenging health landscape across the borough, opportunities to engage and talk to local residents about recognising signs and symptoms of some of the most common and devastating health problems is very positive and there’s no doubt, many lives have been saved or prolonged through the work we do.
“The programmes of health improvement and education opportunities that Club Doncaster have created for the people of Doncaster is both valuable and powerful. I hope the foundation continues to inspire and support many more people to improve their health and wellbeing for years to come.”
