CCG appoints new Lay Member

Linda Tully has been appointed as a Lay Member of NHS Doncaster Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) Governing Body, with responsibility for primary care.

Linda has a wealth of experience in health and social care, previously working in managerial roles within general practice, and latterly at NHS Sheffield CCG as a commissioner leading a variety of service improvements including: intermediate care, mental health, long term conditions, children’s services and end of life care.

Jackie Pederson, Chief Officer at NHS Doncaster CCG, said: “We’re delighted to have Linda join our Governing Body. Her role has a particular focus on general practice commissioning which is a key priority area for us going forward. Linda’s experience and expertise will bring invaluable insight to the role and will help us, as an organisation, continue to work with providers to commission the best possible services for local residents.”

Linda said: “I’m very excited to begin this work in Doncaster. As a Lay Member, I aim to ensure that the organisation conducts itself with the highest level of integrity, making sure that local people are at the heart of all of the CCG’s decisions.”

There have been a number of changes to CCG’s Governing Body in the past weeks:

  • Jackie Pederson replaces Chris Stainforth as Chief Officer, effective 1 April
  • Dr David Crichton replaces Dr Nick Tupper as Clinical Chair, effective 1 April
  • Lay Member, Albert Schofield, leaves the organisation, effective 1 April
  • Lay Member, Anthea Morris, takes over as chair of audit committee, effective 1 April
  • Lay Member, Linda Tully, joins the organisation

The first meeting of the new Governing Body, held in public, takes place 21 April at the Sovereign House, Heavens Walk, Doncaster. Anyone can come along and hear the Governing Body discuss and make decisions about local health services.
