Working at the CCG

Sovereign-House-001NHS Doncaster Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) comprises 43 member practices who have delegated responsibility for running the organisation to a governing body, which is responsible for commissioning healthcare services in Doncaster.

Launching in April 2013, the CCG is in charge of the borough’s over £400 million budget, which aids us in organizing, paying for and monitoring the performance and quality of services in the town.

The CCG is a ‘clinically led’ group, which means that GPs and other healthcare professionals make key decisions. It is a membership organisation, comprising of the 39 member GP practices based in Doncaster, each giving crucial and informed input.

Our aims and priorities are set by GPs, supported by lay members, NHS managers and other health professionals. Together, they have responsibility and freedom to make decisions about the care and services provided for Doncaster and are committed to putting local people at the heart of decision making within the local NHS.

The CCG has responsibility for purchasing and structuring healthcare services for over 320,000 patients in Doncaster and it is our aim to provide the best possible care.
