In the first year of the CCG’s existence, a ‘UK First Registration’ scheme was introduced to support practices registering new entrants to the country. This service ceased on 31 March 2014 and was replaced with a flowchart, as advised by the UK Border Agency, which informed practices of correct procedure. This has now been replaced.
From 16 November 2015, it is no longer a requirement to see photographic ID or proof of address when registering asylum seekers at a practice. Please see the link below for new national guidance from NHS England on registering patients as well as an updated flowchart.
