Mental Health services in Doncaster and Bassetlaw

As part of our mental health #SystemPerfect week, we are raising awareness of a number of services available in Doncaster and Bassetlaw. Below are some of the services available that people can access.

Doncaster Mental Health services and support

Children and Adult Mental Health Services (CAHMS)

Are you a young person who needs support with your mental health? Call our Children and Young People’s Mental Health Service on 01302 796191 or visit their dedicated website.

Talking Shop

Experiencing anxiety, low mood or other common mental health conditions? Why not try our free talking therapy service at the Talking Shop, Hall Street? Call 01302 565556 or visit talking sense. People can access the service via self-referral and even by visiting the Talking shop itself in the centre of Doncaster.

Appointments are available within the local community at numerous venues across the borough with all GP practices having a designated Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.

Crisis Team

Are you having a mental health crisis or know someone who is? Visit or call our Crisis Team on 01302 566999.

Safe Space

A dedicated drop in service ran in December and January for people experiencing issues relating to their mental health. The service ran on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and created a friendly, supportive service that anyone could access if they were in mental health crisis as an alternative to using the emergency department. An evaluation of Safe Space is now taking place. in the meantime, as part of Mental Health System Perfect week, Safe Space will run and can be accessed at the following dates/times and location:

Drug and Alcohol services

Aspire is keen to help people stay well and live a fulfilling life in their own community and can provide confidential information, support and advice. Aspire supports the recovery of people with a drug and/ or alcohol addiction, to help them to become valued citizens in their communities.

Bassetlaw Mental Health services and support

Children and Adult Mental Health Services (CAHMS)

Healthcare or educational professionals can make referrals to this service. For more information please call 0115 8440 520. Parents/carers and young people can also self-refer for CAMHS support using our online form or by calling 0115 854 2299.

Crisis Team

Anyone can contact the service directly to discuss self-referral. People who need support can also be referred by their GP in the Bassetlaw area or other mental health professionals. Please call 0300 123 1804.

Talk Zone

We offer a Counselling Service for people age 11-25 and encourage both self and professional referrals. For more information, call 01909 530943/ 07538318462 or email Info@centreplace.org.uk. Further information and options are available on the Talk Zone website.

LGBT

Specialist mental health services for young people aged 11-25 who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans (LGBT+) are available. More information and the option for online referrals is available or by calling 01909 479191.

Kooth

A dedicated online counselling and emotional well-being platform is available for children and young people.
