The council wants your views on major social care changes.
The council has recently started a major consultation on proposed changes to Adult Social Care charges.
These changes are detailed in this booklet. The consultation period is open until 22 December 2019 and the council is very keen to gather as much feedback as possible from the public as well as from those working in health and care in Doncaster.
Not everyone will be able to feedback their views using the consultation website and a series of open drop-in meetings are planned. You can drop-in at any time during these meetings and don’t need to book to attend. Dates and details are also enclosed in the attached flyer. Please will you:
- Print off and display the booklet regarding the changes to adult social care (attached);
- Print off and display the flyer giving details of these drop-in sessions so that as many members of the public can find out about the events and say what think about the proposed changes (also attached);
- Ask you Patient Participation Group (PPG) and any other groups you work with to add this item to their next meeting agenda and discuss the changes and feedback their views using the on-line consultation survey or in person at one of the drop-in events, and please can you also
- Ask your staffmembers, colleagues, family and friends to complete the feedback survey and share their views on these proposals
Many people who rely on Adult Social Care for their daily living and independence may be unable to feedback their views without help and support. The council can provide help or support with understanding or completing the survey. The survey can also be provided in other formats (e.g. CD, audio cassette, Braille or large type) or in another language. Please telephone 01302 736999 or email ASCcharges@doncaster.gov.uk for this help.
If you would like someone to attend your Patient Participation Group and help facilitate a discussion about these changes, please contact us and we will try to help. The consultation is open until 22 December, so there is plenty of time to discuss and feedback your views.
The council will implement changes based on your feedback from 1 April 2020. Please help us make sure that the views of as many Doncaster patients, health and care staff and members of the public are heard, thank you.
