Don’t forget that when your doctors’ surgery closes on Friday 22nd December it won’t re-open until Wednesday 27 December. So, if you are on prescription medicines, please make sure you have enough to cover this period, or order a repeat from your GP now.

Similarly, when your surgery closes on Friday 29 December it won’t re-open until Tuesday 2 January, 2018. So please check your medicines now.

Pharmacists are a great source of health advice and over the counter medicines if you feel ill. Click on this link to see the pharmacy opening times in Doncaster for the festive season.

Or you can ring NHS 111 for free confidential health advice over the telephone.

The Same Day Health Centre, based at Cavendish Court, South Parade, Doncaster, is open every day of the year, from 8am – 8pm, when your normal GP Practice is closed. However, you must ring first to get an appointment. Ring 0300 123 3103 and you will usually get an appointment within 24 hours. This is a NHS service, staffed by doctors, nurses and other practitioners, to treat minor illnesses and injuries, such throat, ear ache, sprains and strains quickly. If you are not sure, just ring 0300 123 3103.

GPs will be on duty round-the-clock over the Christmas and New Year period. If you feel unwell and need to talk to one, please ring the Out of Hours number:  0300 123 9990.

Have a very merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2018 from all of us at NHS Doncaster CCG.

We have lots of helpful information to help you stay well this winter.
