Scawsby Health Centre staff go the extra mile this Christmas

Staff at Scawsby Health Centre with the hampers

Kind hearted staff at Scawsby Health Centre have gone above and beyond the call of duty this Christmas to help those in need over the festive season.

In previous years, staff have donated food that has been used to make up two festive hampers for older patients that have been unwell, had a tough year or experienced bereavement.

This year, staff rallied together and donated enough items to create four hampers, which will be shared with a number of patients from Scawsby and Bentley.

Nikki Errington, Practice Manager at the Scawsby Health Centre said: “Staff generosity and goodwill to help those in need at this time of year has been amazing.

“As a local health centre, we continue to pride ourselves on building positive relationships with our patients and I am thrilled that our staff continue to do whatever they can to help those in need.

Carolyn Ogle, Associate Director for Primary Care and Commissioning, NHS Doncaster CCG said: “This is a great example of how staff in primary care continue to go the extra mile.

“It shows that something small at this time of year can go a long way to help improve an individual’s physical and emotional wellbeing.”

The hampers are currently making their way to a number of patients in time for Christmas.
